Power of Produce Kids Club
The Power of Produce Kids Club is a National Program that provides ur market youth opportunities to learn more about where local food comes from, the importance of eating fresh fruits & veggies, and how our ecosystems work.
Entertainment and activities at the POP Club make learning about fresh, local foods really fun! Building on the belief that farmers markets are for everyone - including kids! The POP Club will allow our market kids to explore new fruits & veggies by providing $2 in market currency each week along with providing a fun opportunity for children to engage in the local food system.
Activities will include conversations directly with farmers, educational games & demonstrations, and exposure to new fruits & vegetables. In addition to educational activities, POP club kids receive $2 in tokens to spend at the market - thus allowing them to make their own shopping decisions.
The POP Kids Club dates are TBD for 2025. Stay tuned!
How the POP Club Works:
-
Kids 13 & under, ask your parents’ permission to fill out the form for your membership card. You may also get your own special market bag to bring with you each week to the market. (TBD Supplies)
-
Each week that you attend the market, check in at the Kids Club Tent to get your passport stamped and receive your $2 market currency to shop for fresh fruit & veggies.
-
Return to the Kids Club Tent to record your "findings" and what you liked as well as participate in fun crafts and educational activities. Your passport will stay with us each week, but you can take it home at the end of the season! There will also be fun activities & speakers at the Kids Club Tent for you to enjoy!
